Child Safety Standards

Last updated: July 2026

Randoms is a registered-user social platform — not an anonymous or random chat application.

Every user must create an account and authenticate before accessing any feature. There is no guest access, no anonymous messaging, and no unmoderated contact between users. This document outlines our comprehensive approach to child safety, content moderation, and user protection.

1. How Randoms Works

1.1 Registration Required

All users must register with a valid account before accessing any feature of Randoms. There is no guest browsing, no anonymous posting, and no way to interact with other users without being authenticated and identifiable.

1.2 Message Controls & Request Gates

Randoms employs a multi-layered messaging system designed to prevent unwanted contact:

1.3 Content Filtering

Users have additional tools to control what reaches them:

Key Distinction: Randoms is fundamentally different from anonymous or random chat apps. Every user is registered and identifiable. No one can message you without your consent being respected through the Request system. Minors are protected by these same controls plus additional safeguards described below.

2. Zero-Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)

Randoms has a zero-tolerance policy toward any content or activity that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers minors. This includes but is not limited to:

Consequences: Any user found violating this policy will be:

  1. Immediately and permanently banned from the platform
  2. Reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)
  3. Reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities where required by law
  4. All associated data preserved for investigative purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy

3. Reporting CSAE and CSAM

3.1 In-App Reporting

Every post, profile, comment, and message on Randoms includes a Report option accessible from the content menu. Reports can be submitted for:

3.2 Direct Contact

Child Safety Team

Email: safety@randoms.app

This inbox is monitored daily. We acknowledge all reports within 24 hours. If someone is in immediate danger, please contact your local law enforcement first.

3.3 External Reporting Resources

4. How We Handle CSAM Reports

  1. Immediate Triage (within hours): Trained moderators review the reported content. CSAM reports are prioritized above all other moderation tasks.
  2. Content Removal: Confirmed CSAM is removed immediately from the platform.
  3. Permanent Ban: The uploading account is permanently banned with no appeal.
  4. Evidence Preservation: All relevant data (content, account details, IP logs) is preserved for law enforcement.
  5. NCMEC Reporting: All apparent CSAM is reported to NCMEC's CyberTipline in compliance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
  6. Law Enforcement Cooperation: We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations, including providing preserved evidence upon valid legal request.

5. Prevention Measures

5.1 Proactive Detection

5.2 User Education

5.3 Age-Appropriate Design

6. Legal Compliance

Randoms complies with all applicable child protection laws, including but not limited to:

We regularly review our practices against evolving legal requirements and update our policies accordingly.

7. Important: Randoms Is Not an Anonymous or Random Chat App

For the avoidance of doubt and in compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards:

Randoms is a social media platform built on consent, control, and accountability. Our architecture reflects this at every level.

8. Child Safety Point of Contact
